Dr Barry Allen
Chiropractor
Hi, I’m Barry Allen.
I first came to Cairns as an emergency locum to help out a colleague in need. I loved the place so much that I bought the practice—and I’ve never looked back.
I hold a Bachelor in Chiropractic (NZCC) and a Masters in Pain Medicine (Newcastle). As a second-generation Chiropractor, I’m passionate about delivering the same level of care to every client that I’d give my own Mum (and she’s a tough critic, being married to a retired Chiropractor!).
Before settling here, I worked across New Zealand and Australia as an emergency locum for about 15 years. That experience gave me a broad range of techniques and the ability to adapt to complex cases—skills I now share with my clients. I also collaborate closely with other professionals when it benefits your care.
At present, I’m no longer taking on new clients. If you’re new to the practice, we encourage you to book your initial consultation with either Dr Bilson or Dr Mayers. After that, you’re welcome to see anyone in our team—and we encourage you to do so, as each practitioner has their own unique specialties and strengths.
So, welcome to Care Chiro Cairns. The “dad jokes” are free, and our shared goal is simple: to have you Absolutely Thriving.
Dr Josh Bilson
Chiropractor / Exercise Scientist
Dr Josh’s involvement with Chiropractic care started at a young age as a patient receiving treatment for Shin Splints and lower back pain. The relief he experienced, and the care given, was the inspirational moment that encouraged him to pursue a career in the health field. The more he progressed through his studies, the more he understood the positive effects Chiropractic care can have, not just physical health, but on emotional and mental wellbeing. This has driven his passion and enthusiasm to give the best care possible to anyone who walks in the door, and perhaps inspire another the way I was inspired.
Having previously studied a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, he has developed a passionate interest in sports and rehabilitation, particularly in utilizing a multi-modal approach to spinal and extremity treatment. Using exercises to compliment the treatment used in the clinic is an important and effective tool that anyone can use to improve their wellbeing.
His passion for helping others in a sporting setting continued throughout his studies, working as the Head Sports Trainer at the Amateur Hawthorn Football Club. He has been working with the Club for five years and have worked extensively with three male/female football teams inclusive of a range of cultural backgrounds and sporting proficiencies. This opportunity has developed his clinical skills and provided invaluable experience with injury prevention and the important correlation between spinal health and performance.
Dr Jayde Mayers

Dr. Jayde has always had a keen interest in Chiropractic. She started recieving care at a young age and knew that this was the career for her. After graduating from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with a double degree in Health Science & Applied Science (Chiropractic), Jayde knew that it was time to head back home to Far North Queensland.
Dr. Jayde has a passion for helping everyone through all stages of life. She has a special interest in women’s health, pregnancy & paediatric care.

Kinesiologist & Neuro-Developmental Therapist
Nadine Vielle
Kinesiologist & Neuro-Developmental Therapist
I found out about Kinesiology as a teenager when I was struggling to understand my emotions and regulate my responses and behaviour.
Through the use of muscle testing, with a Chiropractor, who used Applied Kinesiology, we went straight to the underlying cause of any issue I was experiencing and found practical solutions that worked for me as an individual.
I continue to use Kinesiology as my go-to modality whenever I am confused and looking for practical solutions to any health or wellbeing issue.
My areas of interest include learning difficulties, emotional regulation and neuro-development in both adults and children. Common symptoms I work with include: Anxiety, school refusal, food intolerances and fussy eating, defiant behaviours, sleep issues, bedwetting, speech issues, dyslexia, poor visual skills, difficulty concentrating, and hyperactivity.
I’m a qualified Kinesiologist (PKP trained), an INPP Licentiate, and a Johansen IAS Provider.
I support neuro-motor maturity in children and adults by integrating retained primitive reflexes and maturing the vestibular system, which can lead to a well-regulated Central Nervous System. I also provide individualised auditory stimulation programs to improve auditory processing in children and adults.
Book in with Nadine if you or your children are wanting to move forward in life with less stress and better co-ordination, balance, muscle control and focus.
