Recurrent / Overuse Injuries
Book an appointmentDo you have an injury that won’t go away?
Imagine what happens if you take a paperclip and repetitively bend it or let a tarp flap in the wind. Eventually they start to break down and before you know it, you have a problem.
Injuries to the body can be divided into two main categories:
Traumatic
Slip, fall, collision that occur suddenly and usually involve a lot of force
Overuse
Repetitive micro traumas that occur over a longer period of time
A large percentage of the people that seek our help fall into the second category because these are often the ones that sneak up on us.
Waking up with a stiff neck after sleeping funny or feeling our back “let go” when lifting the washing basket often have an underlying overuse injury at their source.
Our chiropractors can help identify what activity is causing your problem, and teach your body how to build greater resistance to repetitive stress.
